This discussion will allow you to reflect on the application of criminological theories we have studied in Modules 3, 4, and 5. In this discussion, you will look at either the critical thinking scenario at the end of Chapter 8 or Chapter 9.
You are also responsible for responding to two fellow students: 1) one student who responded to your initial post, 2) one student who chose the same prompt as your initial post, and/or 3) one student who chose a different prompt than your initial post.
You must post before you can see your classmates posts.

Select ONE of the prompts below for your initial response:
- Consider the Critical Thinking scenario on page 293 at the end of Chapter 8 of your text.
- Then take a position either pro or con, on the applicability of restorative justice on violent persons crimes.
- Consider the Critical Thinking scenario on page 331 of your text at the end of Chapter 9 of your text.
- Develop a response to the governors request for an opinion on the request to commute the death sentences.
- Support your response and talk not only about the offender, but the potential impact for the victims family.
Your original response is due by Thursday of the module at 11:59 p.m.
- Your original response should be at least 250 words.
- Be sure to include the prompt you are addressing at the top of your post.
- You must cite at least one source with in-text citations and a reference section in APA format. Your text is the preferred source.
- You must respond to at least two peers by Sunday of the Module by 11:59 p.m. (in written form).
- Peer responses should be to two fellow students: 1) one student who responded to your initial post, 2) one student who chose the same prompt as your initial post, and/or 3) one student who chose a different prompt than your initial post
- Peer responses should be at least 150 words.
- Responses must include reference to materials presented throughout this module of coursework. All references should be cited and listed in a reference section in APA format.
