Over a million immigrants come to the United States each year, and more than half are of childbearing age. By the year 2060, 17% of the nation’s population will be comprised of immigrants (Camarota and Zeigler, 2019). As a nurse, you will be faced with providing culturally appropriate care to these diverse populations. For this part of the discussion, explain what culturally competent care means to you.
Part 2
Your signature assignment for this course is a cultural team presentation. Cultures will be assigned in Module 1 during theory/lecture. Each team will have a team leader (TL) who will be in charge of the general flow of the group, due dates, and assignment work each member will complete. Each group will have 3-4 students based on the number of groups per cohort and how the presentation will be delivered (the groups will vary according to the number of students in each class).
