Writing Question

Instructions

This activity has three stages to complete. Check the schedule to the right of your screen to note the deadlines to submit for each stage. You will also receive email reminders when the stages open and when the deadlines are approaching. If you provide your phone number in Account Settings, you can opt in to receive text message reminders, too.

The first part of the BSPA1 is to identify a target behavior and create a consent form for assessment. Reviewing all of the previous lecture engagements and instructional videos, please complete the assignment below.

  • Download the attachment. All information must be filled out inside the attached table.

  • Identify a character (i.e., movie, TV show, book, etc.) and ONE target problem behavior and fill out the column for the target behavior. Make sure to include a non-example of the behavior.
  • Write one rationale for the problem behavior. The rationale explains how this behavior is causing problems for the individual. Why is it important to target this problem behavior? Focus on the problems the behavior is causing or has events that have occurred rather than speculating on what problems it MAY cause in the future. Provide details to back up your rationale.
  • Avoid including hypothetical situations (i.e., may lead to health issues in the future, could cause them to get injured, etc.)
  • Use only observable terms (avoid using unobservable and ambiguous terms)
  • Create a signed consent form that meets the following criteria:
  • Provides information about the nature of the assessment along with the potential risks and benefits that may occur.
  • Explains how participation and their identity will remain confidential.
  • Obtains permission for the assessment to take place.
  • Specifies that participation is voluntary and that participation may be withdrawn at any time without adverse consequences/retribution from the assessor.
  • Signature from the participant and yourself. (For a fictional character, you will create both signatures)
