Chicago-Style citation explanation:
So let’s say you are quoting from one of the letters in The Kremlin Letters book. The letter states:
“blah, blah, blah….”1
And then the next letter responds:
“nyet, nyet, nyet….”2
Since these are the first two quotes in your paper, the footnotes should look like:

Comments on the above: Note that the second time you quote from The KL text, you don’t have to include the first names of the authors or the title of the text. Note also that “pp.” means “pages” and “p.” means “page”….
