I. Start your essay with a Summary:
In your own words, provide a brief summary of the main events and resolution in “Antigone” This section of your essay should be no more than 100-150 words.
II. Then in the body paragraphs, transition to a personal connection:
Share your personal reactions to the story. Reflect on any emotions it evoked in you and whether you found aspects of the plot or characters relatable, in particular Antigone and Creon. You should use first person in this section of your paper. Refer back to specific parts of the text, using direct quotes (at least 3-4 lines at a time, instead of fragmented lines). Practice using the in-text citation guidelines for plays posted in the module. Finally, it is necessary that you use the same version of the play that I posted in the module (the written play) for your direct quotes.
III. Finally, in the conclusion:
Conclude by summarizing your overall personal response to “Antigone”
Note:
- Keep your response focused on your individual thoughts and feelings, allowing for a brief but meaningful reflection on your personal engagement with the story.
- You should use first person.
- You should also provide examples as well as textual evidence from the play to support your essay.
