I am attaching everything needed for my Manifesto Assignment for LGBTQS M114 (Introduction to LGBTQ Studies). Please read this carefully because this assignment has very specific requirements and grading criteria.

THIS ASSIGNMENT HAS THREE PARTS:
PART 1: ORIGINAL MANIFESTO (30%)
Create an original manifesto that:
- Boldly expresses a clear vision of a just/ideal society.
- Includes sexuality and/or gender in that vision.
- May include race, class, immigration, health, etc.
- Connects to historical manifestos studied in class.
- Engages seriously and creatively with course themes.
- Clearly relates past manifesto traditions to the present moment.
The format is open (written, poetic, visual + text, script, etc.), but it must contain text and be thoughtful and intentional.
PART 2: CONTEXT ESSAY (12501500 words, 56 pages double spaced) (30%)
The essay must:
- Explain WHY the manifesto was created in that form
- Why that format was chosen
- Why those issues were included
- Discuss at least FIVE manifestos total
- At least TWO must be outside manifestos (not from class)
- The rest can be from class
Manifestos from class that count:
- Mattachine Society statement
- One Inc.
- Daughters of Bilitis
- The 5 manifestos in the Manifesto Packet (Week 4)
- Combahee River Collective Statement (Week 5)
- Queer Nation Manifesto (Week 6)
- Include substantial reference to at least TWO additional course readings (not manifestos). These PDFs are in the Google Drive folder.
- Clearly explain connections between:
- Historical manifestos
- Course readings
- My original manifesto
- The present political/social moment
PART 3: WORKS CITED PAGE (10%)
- MLA format
- Cite all outside manifestos and external research
- DO NOT cite course readings or manifestos that were provided on BruinLearn
RUBRIC REQUIREMENTS (VERY IMPORTANT)
To receive an A:
- The manifesto must clearly present a strong, bold vision of a just society.
- It must engage deeply with course themes.
- The essay must fully address ALL parts of the prompt.
- It must show strong understanding of historical manifesto traditions.
- Must refer to 5+ manifestos (2 outside class).
- Must refer to 2+ additional course readings.
- Must be well organized and clearly written.
- Must include MLA Works Cited.
Please confirm:
- You are using at least five manifestos total.
- At least two are outside sources.
- You are referencing at least two additional course readings from the Drive folder.
- The essay is 12501500 words.
- Works Cited is MLA formatted.
- All rubric criteria are fully satisfied.
If anything is missing from the Drive folder, let me know immediately.
