a) Choose a federal agency (e.g., DoD, FEMA, Department of Energy, IRS, etc.) and identify one strategic risk it faces.
- How would you assess the likelihood of this risk occurring?
- What factors influence its impact on the agencys mission, operations, or stakeholders?
- What actions might you suggest to reduce the risk to an acceptable level or do you believe that another risk response would be appropriate?
b) How would you handle a situation where you as a Chief Risk Officer or Head of Internal Audit hear from the Head of the Agency that legal and fraud risks should be removed from the agency’s risk register.
