Assignment Overview:

The Capstone Project Dissemination of Evidence Presentation is a synthesis of your practicum project in two parts for the purposes of evaluation. In the first assignment, you will create a visual representation of your completed project in the form of an academic poster. In the second assignment, you will record yourself presenting your completed poster. The assignments should be completed in sequence. This means you must complete the poster first so you can meet the requirements of the video recording. Each assignment is graded separately.

Poster Directions:

You are required to use the pre-formatted PowerPoint Poster template provided in Canvas.

  • You are encouraged to add professional design elements (color, background) to your poster, but you may not change the posters layout or headings.
  • The posters content must be presented in a concise format using bullet points and not paragraph format.
  • To start, download and save your PowerPoint template (pptx.) to your computer using the following naming format:
  • Last name_Course_Section_Date (i.e., Smith_NSG4865_0001_7-28-2022)
  • Upload your final draft (.pptx file) to the assignment dropbox.

Poster Components:

  1. Title Row: Insert Project Title and Student Name Using Title Case
  2. Project title should align with the capstone topic.
  3. Include your first and last name followed by your academic and professional credentials.
  4. Practicum Setting and Problem Identification
  5. Practicum Setting
  6. Identify the practicum setting. Do not use the name of the healthcare organization or facility (maintain confidentiality and anonymity of the practicum site).
  7. Identification of Nursing Problem.
  8. Identify the nursing problem at the practicum site.
  9. Provide internal data that shows how the problem interrupts daily workflow, processes, and/or care to patients.
  10. Provide research that validates this is a problem for nursing practice.
  11. Note: Research findings must come from a minimum of two peer-reviewed studies published within the last five years.
  12. Note: Research findings must be paraphrased without direct quotes
  13. Stakeholders, Preceptor, and Target Population
  14. Identify stakeholders and how you collaborated with them towards project completion.
  15. Identify the stakeholders, specific members of nursing leadership, and interprofessional providers that were involved in your project (Do not use individual names. Use descriptive titles only).
  16. Identify the target population.
  17. Identify target population according to type of leadership position and/or the specific area in which the target population works (i.e., 20 nurses on an ortho unit). Note: Do not use individual names of members in the target population (maintain confidentiality and anonymity of the target population).
  18. Identify the preceptor’s role in project planning and collaboration with the student.

  21. Literature findings must come from a minimum of three peer-reviewed articles published within the last five years.
