You are a nurse educator tasked with designing an individualized teaching plan to improve educational outcomes for a specific population. Your learners may include clients in community settings or nurses in clinical practice who face barriers such as low health literacy, language barriers, low motivation, or limited access. You are responsible for creating an education plan that supports knowledge acquisition, addresses learning barriers, and promotes equitable, ethical, and culturally responsive instruction. You must create a PowerPoint presentation with speaker notes that outlines your educational plan for educators and stakeholders who will evaluate your readiness to implement it within the target population. Your presentation should clearly describe the selected population, the proposed instructional strategy, evaluation methods, and how your approach will promote inclusive learning and uphold the ethical responsibilities of the nurse educator. Consider the content from the Week 6 Explore pages and reflect on the educator competencies needed to deliver effective, person-centered education in diverse environments. Use the Designing Equitable Education Across Diverse Populations PowerPoint template to develop your PowerPoint presentation with speaker notes. Alternatively, you may create a template of your own that uses a professional platform such as PowerPoint or Canva, provided it includes all the components outlined in the rubric. See the rubric. Follow APA grammar, spelling, word usage, and punctuation rules consistent with formal, scholarly writing. Use at least three scholarly resources to support your education plan. Use correct APA format to include in-text citations and a complete reference list. No more than one short, direct quote (15 words or less) may be used in this assignment. Include the following sections (detailed criteria listed below and in the grading rubric). Population Overview and Learning Needs Identify the selected population (e.g., new graduate nurses, clients with low health literacy, older adults, etc.). Describe two or more learning needs or barriers common to this population. Explain why individualized education is necessary for this group, supported by current data or statistics. Instructional Strategy Design Describe the instructional approach you will use (e.g., small group session, telehealth coaching, in-home education). Select a learning theory or educational best practice and explain how the instructional approach is grounded in the selected theory. Identify two or more ways the strategy will be adapted for this populations needs (e.g., literacy level, cultural background, language, digital access). Evaluation of Learning Identify two evaluation methods to determine if learning occurred (e.g., teach-back, return demonstration, observation, client feedback). Provide a rationale for how each method will help assess client or staff understanding and application. Discuss how the results of these evaluations will inform or adjust future instruction. Equity and Professional Responsibility Describe how your plan promotes equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive education. Explain how you will maintain psychological safety, dignity, and professionalism during the learning process. Discuss how your approach aligns with the ethical and professional responsibilities of the nurse educator. Presentation Format and Quality Submit a PowerPoint presentation with speaker notes. The speaker notes should include what you would say if you were presenting this to key stakeholders and must include in-text APA citations. Each slide should be representative of PowerPoint best practices (e.g., limit text per slide, effective use of white space, readable font, etc.), enhancing the overall content delivery. Scholarly Sources Include a reference slide with at least three scholarly sources published within the last five years.
