This week, we will learn about informational reports. An Informational report provides objective, non-biased facts and data without analysis or recommendations. Instructions:
For this discussion, you will research and analyze a well-known international or global corporation of your choice. The goal is to demonstrate your understanding of global business operations and to practice effective professional communication.
Part 1 Select a Global Corporation
Choose one internationally recognized corporation. Examples include (but are not limited to):
- Samsung
- Toyota
- Apple
- Nestl
- Unilever
- Microsoft
- Amazon
- Coca-Cola
Your selected corporation must operate in multiple countries and have an established global presence.
Part 2 Create an Informational Report (Video With Voice Narration)
Record a short informational report video (35 minutes) that includes your voice narration. Your video should clearly and professionally explain:

- Company Overview
- Name of the company
- Country of origin
- Year founded
- Brief history
- Mission or purpose
- Global Presence
- Countries/regions where the company operates
- Major international markets
- Examples of global products or services
- Business Operations & Strategies
- How the company adapts to international markets (culture, pricing, marketing, etc.)
- Any notable global partnerships, supply chain strategies, or innovations
- Business Challenges or Controversies (if applicable)
- Labor issues, environmental concerns, or legal matters
- Competitive challenges
- Your Insight
- Why you selected this corporation
- What you learned from your research
Video Requirements
- Must include your voice narration
- You may appear on camera or narrate over slides/screens
- Aim for 35 minutes
- Upload directly to Canvas or through a shareable link (per instructor preference)
Research & Citation Requirements
You must include:
At least two credible sources, such as:
- Company annual reports
- Official corporate websites
- News outlets
- Business journals
- Academic articles
AI Tool Disclosure
If you used any AI tools (Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Bard, etc.) for research, scripting, or idea generation, include a short statement such as:
I used Microsoft Copilot to assist with organizing my research and drafting parts of my report.
References Section
Provide your citations at the end of your written post accompanying your video.
Use APA format unless your instructor specifies otherwise.
Part 3 Respond to Classmates
After posting your video, respond thoughtfully to at least two classmates. Consider discussing:
- What you found interesting or surprising about their corporation
- Any similarities to your chosen company
- Strengths or weaknesses in global business strategy
Your replies should show engagement and professionalism.
