Problem 1:

Using Buckinghams Pi theorem, show that CL = f(M, Re) for an airfoil tested in a wind tunnel where compressibility effects are important.

Problem 2:

Using Buckinghams Pi theorem, show that CD = f(Re) for a sphere tested in a water tunnel.

Then:

b) Find the required sphere velocity to simulate a balloon rising at 8 m/s.

c) Determine the balloon drag force if the measured drag on the sphere is 60 N.
