Use permeable paving for streets and sidewalks

My intended research area is the evaluation of permeable paving systems for use in urban sidewalks and low-traffic streets. With increasing urbanisation and surface water flooding risks, sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) are becoming increasingly important in civil engineering design. Permeable pavements offer potential benefits including stormwater infiltration, runoff reduction, and groundwater recharge. However, their long-term hydraulic and structural performance requires further investigation, particularly under realistic service conditions.
