U.S. History Essay

This assignment is two short essays at around 3-4 pages double spaced based on two different prompts about American history between 1918 and 1990. The teacher released a list of prompts that we can choose from, so you will have free creative direction as far as which combination of two prompts you would like to write about. I have attached a document with the sources and some instructions to follow. As far as sources for you to use, the required texts for this course are as follows:

William H. Chafe, The Unfinished Journey

Bruce Schulman, The Seventies

James Baldwin, The Fire Next Time

David Finkel, Thank You for Your Service

Alice Echols, Daring to Be Bad

You can use any of these texts for writing the two essays. Make sure to site the sources as the teacher describes in the document. Additionally, there are a number of supplemental readings that she assigns every week that you may use for reference or quoting. Those are on the third page of the document that I attached containing the instructions for the essays. You can quote from anywhere in these sources. I don’t have an exact number of quotes that should be used, but the more the better.
