Trade Book

Students create a presentation highlighting one of the books that they choose from the . On each slide, please describe the following (the slide numbers are suggestions as you may include more slides if needed):

SLIDE 1: Book Title and your full name.

SLIDE 2: Summary of the book you chose. Please include a picture.

SLIDE 3: Relevance of the book theme/topic to elementary students and GSE Social Studies AND ELA standards as well as at least two C3 Framework indicators.

SLIDE 4: Justify how would you use the trade book for grades K-1, grades 2-3, and grades 4-5

SLIDE 5: Discussion questions to use with the book-please include a minimum of 5

SLIDE 6: Vocabulary words and social studies-based content vocabulary associated with the book.

SLIDE 7: Summary of differentiated instructional strategies that may be integrated into the teaching of this book.

SLIDE 8: Describe one summative and one formative assessment that could be used to assess students (just looking for a description of it and not an actual assessment).

SLIDE 9: Description of how you could integrate this book into a larger student project or unit of study.

SLIDE 10: Summarize a math extension and a science extension that you could do with your students after reading this book.

SLIDE 11: Reference page

Rubric:

Slide 1 has the book title and student’s full name

and Slide 11 has a reference list

Slide 2 has a summary of the book and a picture from the book

Sources should include the trade book from the website
