The Innocence Project and CIUs

• Research California and San Diego county prosecutors office to determine whether or not it has a state Innocence Project and a local Conviction Integrity Unit.
• If your state does not have one or the other, research a state that does.
• Explain where both organizations are located and what you learned about them.
• Discuss the 1975 case from the investigation room and the role the Innocence Project and Conviction Integrity Unit played in securing the release of the three defendants.
• What information was missing from the 1975 case about the role of the Innocence Project and the exoneration process?
