The Diving Bell and the Butterfly

Choose a film (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly) related to one of the weekly topics (Formalism and Realism) and craft an argument addressing the following:

  • How do selected scenes represent a concept or idea relevant to your topic?
  • How do cinematography, sound, mise-en-scne, and editing contribute to meaning in these scenes?
  • Focusing on 12 key scenes is acceptable if this allows for more detailed analysis.
