  • Chapter 11: Determining Importance in Text: The Nonfiction Connection
  • Chapter 12: Summarizing and Synthesizing Information: The Evolution of Thought

After watching the different strategies being taught in the discussion this week, create a teacher’s resource that includes each of the six strategies in a table format.

The criteria for the table should consist of the following components:

  1. Name of strategy/author (creator) if one is given
  2. What area of comprehension does it target?
  3. Techniques for teaching each strategy with a brief explanation of how to use/teach this strategy when working with English language learners.
  4. Difficulties that can occur with each strategy.
  5. Include at least one online resource related to each strategy.

*** Present your information in a table, with each of the above components listed. Statements may be bulleted but the information presented must be complete.
