What is meaning of Delhi?
The name “Delhi” (or Dilli) has uncertain, ancient origins, with theories suggesting it derives from the Persian word Dahleez or Dehali (meaning “threshold” or “gateway” to the Gangetic Plain). It may also stem from the 9th-century King Dhillu or the ancient city of “Dhillika”. It serves as India’s capital and a historical center.
