Strategic Initiative Execution in an Imaging-Centered Health…

Choose a healthcare organization and identify a strategic initiative that is currently underway or proposed as part of a strategic plan. You may use your current employer, another real healthcare organization, or a realistic composite organization; be explicit about which you are using. It is fine to use pseudonyms for privacy reasons. Please prepare a paper that discusses: 1. Context and Strategy (approx. 1 page) Briefly describe the organization (type, size, setting) and its mission/vision/strategic direction. Describe the strategic initiative and why it was chosen (link to a key environmental or internal issue). Identify two critical planning issues the initiative addresses and explain why they are critical for this organization. 2. Transition to Implementation (approx. 11.5 pages) Using the textbooks Phase 4 (Transition to Implementation): Discuss three to four of the following for your initiative: Leadership/oversight structure Stakeholder engagement Communication and culture Resources (people, money, technology) Change management/timing Identify one major barrier to successful implementation and propose one concrete mitigation strategy, drawing on ideas from the textbook. Explain how you would monitor progress, including: a few key metrics, and how often and by whom progress would be reviewed. 3. 1218Month Implementation Snapshot (approx. 11.5 pages) Outline a highlevel implementation plan for the first 1218 months. Include at least 5 major actions; for each, state: the action, the responsible role (not a person), approximate timing (e.g., Months 13), and one success indicator. Briefly describe who the key stakeholders are and how you would keep them informed during this period. Conclude with one insight you gained from applying the textbooks framework to a real initiative and how it affects your thinking as a healthcare leader.
