SPD in Canada

It is tempting to think that Canadians do not stereotype, exhibit prejudice or behave in discriminatory ways.

However, this is not the case. For this assignment, find an example of an SPD that has occurred in Canada some time within the past 50 years. Upload your source (e.g. newspaper article, magazine article). In three to five typed double-spaced pages, describe and analyze the SPD you have chosen. Here are some of the questions you may wish to consider:

What is the historical context of this SPD? Who are the targets? Who are the perpetrators? Is this SPD an isolated instance or an ongoing SPD? How did the targets) of the SPD respond to the SPD? Has the SPD been recognized by perpetrators and/or bystanders as an SPD? If so, how have perpetrators/bystanders responded? In your opinion, was the response to this SPD appropriate? Could the response have been different? Better? Worse? How likely is this SPD to re-occur? With the same targets? With other targets?
