You are a reporter who works for The New York Journal. You are on assignment, as youve been allowed to travel to Cuba with the U.S. Army. You are embedded with the Rough Riders unit. First, how has your newspaper contributed to the outbreak of the war? Do you agree with tactics used by your newspaper? Discuss the heroics shown by some of the lesser-known participants in the Spanish American War. What are some of the difficulties you experience as a journalist in the field, tagging along with the Army? You recently met and interviewed Theodore Roosevelt. What are your thoughts about him?
