Social media and the internets effect on mental health

For this research paper, you will provide a 4-5 page research paper based on the Argumentative RESEARCH Topic you have chosen from Weeks 4 & 5.

  • Times New Roman
  • 12 Size Font
  • 1-inch margins
  • Double Space

Parts included in the APA format research paper are as follows:

Page 1: Title Page

Page 2-5/6: Research Paper Body

Your research paper should include these parts:

Introduction:

1st paragraph of Introduction: What is the history or historical background of the topic? This information should be cited. Use the Library Databases Credo Reference for this section of your paper. Use the cite button on this database to get the proper APA citation. This should be 8-10 sentences.

2nd paragraph of Introduction: What is your thesis statement, and what are your arguments for this topic? State your thesis in the form of a sentence or two. It should not be in the form of a question. Are you for or against and why? Your paper should not have “I” statements. All of your points should be backed up or show evidence. Use the library databases Issue and Controversies OR Opposing Viewpoints on My Monroe- Library Resources to help you find this research. This should be 8-10 sentences.

Body of Paper:

Use subheadings (if needed) to separate aspects of your paper that support your thesis. The subheadings could be the arguments you are making in your paper. The body of your paper should provide supporting evidence to support your thesis. For each new argument that supports your overall thesis, provide a topic sentence or two that, in effect, is the thesis for that sub-topic. If you do not use subheadings, you must provide transition sentences to move your reader from one paragraph to the next. Your supporting sub-topics should address these issues: What is the significant impact of these research findings? How will they affect people? What are the benefits to people? Are there any disadvantages? These are just some questions you can answer in your paper, but feel free to add more questions you believe could be answered.

As a research paper writer, you should synthesize the information gained from sources and weave it into a well-ordered paper, using the sources as evidence to support key points. These are how your direct quotes (In-text citations) come into your paper.

This section of your paper should in include most of your in-text citations.

Conclusion:

Your conclusion should include “wrap-up” statements about what you learned about the topic and your findings’ possible impact on people and society. Also, address any issues that may still not be resolved for you.

Page 7 or 8: Reference Page- NOT INCLUDED AS THE 4-5 Pages of Paper Body

The final page of your research paper is your reference page. This page has all the sources you have used in your research paper. Each source should be placed as an APA citation and in alphabetical order by the first letter of the citation. Please view the APA folder and sample research paper to understand what should be submitted for your reference page.

Sources for your research paper:

4-5 sources in total(You may add more if you choose, but each source you use must contain an in-text citation in the body of the paper.

You should have a minimum of 6 in-text citations, at least one from each source you use and two from one source. You can use multiple in-text citations from one source, but remember each source should have at least one in-text citation.)

  • REQUIRED: Provide 4-5 articles from the library database. I suggest you use the Discovery Service database for Monroe College and the Opposing Viewpoints and Issues and Controversies Database.
