Social issues affecting children and families

Create a collection of resources you could share with children and families to provide support for common social issues they may face. Complete each handout as we cover topics in class. Do not wait until the last week to begin this project. You will create a parent handout for each topic listed. Each handout will include a total of THREE resource agencies (2 local, 1 state/national) and TWO children’s books. You may create a single document with page breaks or upload individual handouts. Handouts should include a title and supporting graphic(s). The handout should be attractive, professional, free of spelling and grammar errors. It should also be parent friendly and include all required information listed below. See the attached rubric for grading specifics. You will submit your final project in Module 13. For EACH category, list 2 local agencies (within 50 miles) AND 1 state/national agency available to help families. Each resource must include the following: The name of the organization or agency The address and phone number Contact person (if applicable) A link to the website A brief description of services List 2 childrens books that could be used to help children understand that they are not alone in their struggles. List the title and author of the book and write a summary of each book. Books should be appropriate for children.
