Review the definition and examples of these concepts in your textbook (or better, check your notes from chapter 4 and class lecture). Then, complete the following learning activity:
- Identify (list) 10 social statuses that you currently occupy. Identify which statuses are ascribed and which ones are achieved. (10 points)
- Select the 5 most important statuses that you currently occupy and describe the social roles associated with each status. A minimum of 5 roles per status is required. Identify which statuses are ascribed and which ones are achieved. (25 points)
- Provide an example of a role conflict from your current life. Saying that you experience no role conflict is not acceptable as an answer.(5 points)
- Provide an example of status strain from your current life? Saying that you experience no status strain is not acceptable as an answer.(5 points)
- Attach a photo of yourself that represent your “social-self.” (5 points)
