The best place to begin is by reviewing the facts found in the record, including the arresting officers hearing testimony, and the tip received on the tip line. See which facts were corroborated, and see which facts you might be able to corroborate on your own.

Then, when you begin researching, start by reviewing the cases cited in the district courts memorandum denying the motion to suppress. Remember that you are looking for relevant Supreme Court cases, First Circuit cases, and district court cases within the First Circuit (if they are particularly useful on the facts). You want to find cases that identify and discuss the various factors courts consider in assessing probable cause based on information supplied by an anonymous tipster.
