Scholarly Position Paper

this is a Scholarly Position Paper. I am not very familiar with the instructions yet but I will attached the syllabus please refer to page 6. basically to start we are working one by parts, put in it in a discussion module. for the first module professor asked us this.

Please consider the required elements of the Scholarly Paper assignment, read the selected suggested resources, and decide on your topic of environmental concern. You may also refer to the Healthy People 2030 website for environmental problems that interest you. Please enter the topic in this forum and provide three sentences describing your decision to use this environmental concern for your paper.

Describe the following:

1. The nature of the environmental concern and the population affected.
2. Why is this environmental concern good or bad for society, a population, or a community?
3. How does this environmental concern impact the role of the nurse or nursing practice?

my answer was: My Topic: Food Insecurity and Chronic Disease. For this paper, I plan to focus on food insecurity as an environmental concern by looking closely at the food environment, such as food deserts, access to grocery stores, transportation barriers, and neighborhood-level availability of nutritious foods, rather than focusing on financial factors. I also plan to narrow the topic by focusing on metabolic and cardiovascular diseases, specifically diabetes, hypertension, and obesity to better show the relationship between environmental conditions and health outcomes.

FOR SECOND MODULE When preparing to write a scholarly paper, it is very important to select the sources wisely. Reviewing and assembling your sources before you begin writing your paper will help you produce a better result. Relevant resources can enhance your work and make preparing your paper easier.

Your scholarly paper requires you to provide and describe literature relevant to your interest. This gives credibility to your work and maximizes the impact you share with the reader. The review also engages the reader to become a participant in your work. This is very important when writing a position paper, as the relevant literature supports the development of your position and argument.

Suggestions

• Search peer-reviewed journals for articles related to your topic.
• Are your sources current? Sources should not be older than five (5) years, except for seminal work. Review the list of peer-reviewed sources found in your syllabus. These are peer-reviewed, reliable resources.
• Consider the reliability of any website that you use as a source. The WPU Cheng Library has a great tutorial about this.

Please submit the sources you found to help you write your paper. Use APA guidance to list your sources.
