Role of the Provider and Scope of Practice

The purpose of this assignment is to define the scope of practice for allied health professionals and discuss the importance of patient-centered care.

Select two allied health providers and research their roles and scope of practice in your state.

In a PowerPoint presentation of 1215 slides (excluding the title slide and reference), address the following concepts and include detailed speaker notes:

1. Describe the professional responsibilities of both allied health providers you selected and discuss their roles in delivering quality patient care. Include a discussion about the education and skills required in both professional roles and describe the health care settings in which both providers may be found.
2. Define “scope of practice” within an allied health context and describe the scope of practice for both allied health providers you selected in your state.
3. Explain how both allied health providers can provide patient-centered care and how their background, education, skills, and health care experience contribute to delivering quality patient outcomes in the community.

Speaker notes must be included for every slide (excluding the title and reference slides). Notes should provide a clear, detailed explanation of slide content as if the learner were delivering the presentation to a live audience. Each note section should include the following:

1. Key talking points and elaboration on slide content
2. Integration of scholarly evidence (with in-text citations where appropriate)
3. Transitions between ideas or slides
4. Reflection on implications, examples, or applications related to the topic

A minimum of three peer-reviewed articles or professional academic sources are required.
