I am going to discuss the rising demand of skilled trade workers and the transformation of college degree in the current workforce, in my informative speech. I will explain why fewer people are entering trades, what it means for the economy and how college enrollment has shot up even in fields in which a degree may not guarantee employment. I want the audience to become more aware of what is happening in today’s labor market and what opportunities exist with each route. 2. Why did you choose this topic? I chose this topic because there is a strong societal push for students to attend college even when their desired careers may not require a degree.
