Moving to Las Vegas also provided a huge boost to UNLVs football program, as the deal with the county allowed the Rebels to move into Allegiant Stadium, which is a vast improvement over Sam Boyd Stadium. Playing in an NFL stadium has improved the recruiting profile, as players now have a climate controlled indoor stadium, as well as their own dedicated, 7200 square foot locker room. The stadium is also more fan friendly, as it is more centrally located and offers premium seating and state of the art fan experience. UNLV football has gone from perennial cellar dweller, to a potential juggernaut in the new Mountain West conference.
