Research topic, Research Problem, Research Question

his week, we learned how to identify practice-based problems and turn them into clear, ethical research questions. Share your thoughts about how to keep client needs, cultural contexts, and ethical principles at the center of your questions. Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Think of a social problem you are passionate about. How might you turn that into a research question?
  • What are the risks of designing a research question that is too broad, too narrow, or not grounded in the lived experiences of clients? How can social work values guide you in formulating ethical and relevant research questions?
  • Share what in this week’s content you found to be of most interest related to your social work practice, your professional development, and/or academic journey. How might you use this information?
