Think of a formal research project :

Research Project – How social media is utilized to cause polarization within society.

1. Determine and list what type of research (e.g. basic research or applied research) you will explore.
2. Generate a problem statement and 3-5 research questions.
3. Conduct a literature review with a brief summary of at least three similar studies (2 pages).

If you have trouble picking a research topic, you may consider these tips and questions:

• Is there a social problem that interests you or youre passionate about?
• Is there a current event that interests me that I can generate a research topic from?
• Is there a program at your organization or company that you would like to evaluate?
