Research paper selection

This assignment is the first step for your research paper presentation. In this assignment, you will conduct a database search to identify a paper to present on. For this assignment, you will submit: the paper you selected and a brief description of the study the paper describes, including its methods and results. Papers should report the results of a study that tested how well a form of psychotherapy/counseling worked. A paper that only describes correlational/survey research, or only provides a conceptual or theoretical review (that is, describes an idea but does not test it) is not appropriate. Types of studies that are typically appropriate are: a randomized controlled trial, quasi-experiment, open trial, case study, or feasibility/acceptability study. If you select a study that wouldn’t be suitable, I’ll give you that feedback so you can adjust in advance of your presentation. I would suggest using these two search engines/databases: Google Scholar Academic Search Premier A good submission will: Make it clear what paper you selected, including the citation and/or link to paper Include a brief description of the study, with at least one sentence describing the methods (what did the researchers do?) and one sentence describing the results/conclusions (what can we learn from the study) Be written in professional language, using full sentences, and free from typos and spelling/grammar errors
