• Write a 7-8 page double-spaced essay (not counting a title page and bibliography) that considers the following: are Socialism and Capitalism the only two possible economic modalities for modern states?
• In doing so, be sure to:
• Describe how these economic ideologies originated and how they are related to political ideologies (Liberalism, Conservatism, Communism, Fascism, Green Politics, etc.);
• Describe the implications of these ideologies for the design of political institutions;
• Describe the implications of these ideologies for individual political behavior, such as voting;
• Include references to Bellocs Servile State, Schumachers Small is Beautiful, and Hayeks Road to Serfdom (links in the readings for Module 7), the course texts, and at least five peer-reviewed sources (academic journal articles and books published by university presses) not already assigned in the course readings. An essay of this length should contain at least twenty in-text citations.
