How does the American educational system mirror larger societal inequities, and what can be done to change it so that the America of the future is closer to its ideals of fairness, equality, and opportunity for all? (Simplified prompt question: “How is school in America unfair, and what can be done to make it fair for everyone?”) Overview and Basic Directions: Your task is to create a three-part essay that makes an argument in response to the prompt. A three-part essay means that you must have an introduction with a thesis, an essay body with multiple paragraphs that supports your thesis, and a conclusion. An argument is when you attempt to persuade your audience, the readers, that your ideas on an important issue are worthwhile. The goal is that readers should at least consider your point of view.
