Reply to two students

Post at least 2 unique, relevant, substantive replies to your classmates

Replies must be around 150 words not including references.

Sources (academic or non-academic) must be correctly cited in the text and referenced below in APA 7 style. Keep an academic tone.

Forum replies must uniquely add to or challenge the main posts they address utilizing scholarly sources for support.

In all posts be sure to discuss the psychology associated with an issue or event and not just details. For example, when describing how media was utilized to mobilize the Black Lives Matter movement do not just discuss the details of the mobilization – add to it the psychology behind each action. Discuss what theories explain its effectiveness, etc.

To add to or expand on a main post of another student in a reply, find a different peer reviewed source from the one used in that main post. Utilize the new source to share additional insights not already covered in that main post. For example, if a student wished to add to a main post that discussed the example given in Module 1 (e.g. the elaboration likelihood model and commercial; peripheral route persuasion) they would find a different peer reviewed journal article and present perspective, details, or insights (related to) but not covered in the main post they are replying to. It may also be useful to present additional concrete examples in the form of ads, videos, or news stories to support your argument(s).

To challenge a main post of another student in a reply, find a different peer reviewed source from the one used in the main post. Utilize the new source to present a counter argument to the main post. For example, if a student was replying to a post that argued that video games contribute to real world aggression, the replying student who wished to challenge that argument would find a peer reviewed journal article that presented evidence that video games were not associated with real world violence. The student would use the new source to present perspective, details, or insights and craft their reply. It may also be useful to present additional concrete examples in the form of ads, videos, or news stories to support your argument(s).

Real-world examples in media used in your writing should be unique. This means you must search outside of the textbook and Brightspace for concrete examples to use in your writing. The examples provided can be used as inspiration. If you must discuss an example of classmate in a reply, avoid derivative descriptions. Choose new details to discuss.
