1. What is prejudice? What is discrimination? What are the differences between the two? Explain the relationship between them using Merton’s typology. How have you seen prejudice & discrimination play out in your own life? Were you an observer or a participant in these examples? How so?
2. What is the impact of sterotypes on how we interact with others? What is intergroup hostility?
3. In what ways do you think interactions over the Internet are promoting prejudice and discrimination? Conversely, do you think the Internet and social media can be used as tools to reduce prejudice and discrimination? If so, how?
4. Name 2 stereotypes referencing the social, cultural, ethnic, political, etc. groups that you belong to. Do you agree with these stereotypes? Why or why not?
