You are required to write two (2) journal papers drawing on the required readings. Please briefly
summarize 2-3 major points in each reading. Secondly, identify three-four important themes across the
chapters/articles and analytically comment on how these readings enhances your understanding of the
authors’ perspectives or point of view. I am interested in your using the readings to develop a more
critical reaction to the material and to learn to synthesize academic and personal knowledge. For
example, after you identify the major concepts, ideas and themes, combining them into a coherent
whole to understand the topic. You may discuss them in light of other course readings such as other
readings, lectures, films, etc. to either support or contradict some of the concepts presented in the
readings. Each journal should be approximately 4-5 pages (double-spaced, not including references
page). The journal covers all assigned readings prior to and including the readings for the date in
which these papers are due.
DUE DATES: March 6, 2026 (6th week of class) and April 24, 2026 (13th week of class).
