Seeking out a variety of texts to help you understand the scope of your question, and the various ways in which people and institutions are impacted by it, is an important part of early exploration. This week, we’re focusing on scholarly sources, which are texts created by and for experts in their respective fields. These texts can be quite challenging for people outside of those fields to read and understand. However, that doesn’t mean it’s impossible, and with careful attention and a strategic approach, you can certainly learn a great deal from these documents and utilize them for your own research process.
Instructions for this Homework Exercise
- Using the
- search engine (as demonstrated in this week’s instructor video), locate one scholarly peer-reviewed article that you believe could be useful for investigating your research question.
- Open the . It’s a Word document, so you should be able to open it and type directly into it.
- Fill out the worksheet as thoroughly as possible about the source you’ve chosen.
