Use Google to search Tenement Apartments 1930s and look through the images to research how people decorated their homes at that time. Choose an image that you think best suits what you have learned about Josephine Baldizzi. Keep in mind that her living space was 3 rooms that totaled 352 square feet this is about the size of our classroom.
Discuss why you chose this image. What objects in the image strike you as meaningful for Josephine? What objects do you think an Italian immigrant circa 1930 would have in their home?

Think about your own home/apartment, bedroom, or other personal space. In what ways have these spaces been personalized by you? What object in your personal space has the most meaning for you? Why is this the case? How does this object reflect who you are?
