Although field trips seem like an idea of the past, we can only hope that we will be able to do them again someday soon. Planning a field trip is a lot of work, and one of the most important parts is parent notification.

• Please create a field trip note that could be sent home to families for an upcoming trip to the pumpkin patch. Each child will need $5, a sack lunch, tennis shoes or boots, and a jacket. Family members can also attend for an additional $5/person. Think about how this request will affect families in poverty situations. How can you design the note to be inclusive yet empathetic to each family’s situation?
