Psychology Question

Overview

During Week 3, you discussed the basics of OBM, PM, and how the PDC-HS is used. The focus of this assignment is to expand upon that information in an applied way. You will identify a performance issue of concern that your organization is experiencing and complete an assessment. For example, technicians may not be taking data effectively or completing paperwork or billing in a timely manner. Once completed, you will develop a pinpoint or series of pinpoints to be used as a component of a larger measurement system to evaluate the employees performance.

Preparation

To prepare for this assignment, complete the following:

  • Collaborate with your supervisor to identify a general performance of concern. For example, your supervisor may mention that task analyses are not being run as often as discrete trial instruction.
  • Complete a PDC-HS with your supervisor on the performance of concern.
  • Develop a measurement system including pinpoints for evaluation during your next assignment.
  • If you haven’t already, view the , which will help clarify your understanding of the assignment.

Instructions

In a 34 page paper:

  • Describe the workplace where you conducted the PDC-HS. Include all relevant details such as the organizations purpose, population of interest, the organizational structure, and how services are implemented (for example, whether the BCBA supervise technicians in a tiered model) (one paragraph).
  • Describe pinpointing as a behavior analytic way of defining performance behavior and how it differs from standard operational definitions (one paragraph).
  • Discuss the pinpoints you created as a component of your assessment and the overall findings of the PDC-HS. (two paragraphs).
  • Describe the measurement system and how you plan to collect, aggregate (for example, group together), and visually inspect the data (34 paragraphs)
    • Identify the dimensional measures (for example, duration, rate) that are relevant to each pinpoint.
    • Describe how you plan to collect these data (for example, paper and pencil, electronic system, et cetera).
    • Describe how you plan to visually inspect these data (for example, what type of graphs will you use, will you graph them in software or by hand, et cetera).
    • Discuss next steps, including how often you will collect data.
  • Conclude your discussion with a brief summarization of the information you presented (one paragraph).
  • Attach a copy of the PDC-HS that you completed as an appendix.

Your assignment should also meet the following requirements:

  • Written communication: Should be free of errors that detract from the overall message.
