You have evaluated a minimum of 20 scholarly articles on your topic area, and you critically evaluated each of these articles by using either an annotated bibliography format or a synthesis matrix. For the final assignment, you will be using your critical review of these articles to write a synthesized literature review on your topic. Remember that a scholarly literature review is not just summarizing one article after another, but synthesizing the implications, findings, and significance of the studies that you reviewed. You are identifying patterns and trends with data, congruence within the literature, and points of disagreement among researchers. Use your instructor feedback from the annotated bibliography and synthesis matrix assignments when writing your literature review.
- Refine your topic area and problem statement from and write an introductory paragraph.
- Include a research question that is specific and measurable that pertains to your topic.
- Assemble a theoretical framework or model to help you develop a persuasive argument about your topic. Demonstrate that you have expertise in the topic area by writing a persuasive argument.
- Synthesize the patterns, differences, findings, and limitations with the 20 articles that you reviewed (use the information in Part I and Part II). Synthesize relevant findings as they align with your chosen research topic.
- Identify a need for future research/studies based on the gap that you identified in your literature review. Include multiple methodologies. What types of research studies could help further knowledge in the topic area?
- Compose a personal reflection section about the integration of faith and research and reflect upon what you learned from your literature review (it is acceptable to use 1st person in this section).
