Project Paper Problem and SMART Objective Outline Instructions

Using the public health problem, setting and population, identified impact, SMART objectives you created, develop and describe general action steps you intend to take to achieve your SMART objectives. These action steps are planned work for the field that will become part of your Method section. You do not need to flesh this detail out into full sentences and are expected to create a bullet point presentation for this information. Create a brief outline of your problem, background, population and setting,

For example, if my public health problem is related to the rate of unintentional injuries in Macon, Geogria. The outline should include some focus on statistics and background on this problem and population. My intended impact would then be related to factors that related to this problem. In this case we may assume it is lack of knowledge and awareness related to head injuries from failure to use a helmet when riding bicycles and motorcycles. Therefore, my intended impact and goal could be to increase knowledge, awareness, and change behaviors that seek to reduce the incidence of head injuries through impacting these areas. From this I will create SMART objectives. One of the SMART objectives being implemented might be:

By the end of the Practicum, present an educational presentation on bicycle safety that increases information and awareness about head injury safety as measured by 85% of participants who completed the program being able to describe 5 safety measures on a post-test survey.

Strategies to complete this SMART objective might include the following:

1. Research best practices and safety tips for biycle safety

2. Create a 5 minute video on bicycle safety and head injuries.

3. Show a continuous loop of a 5-minute video about prevention of head injury related to bicycle safety at a local health fair.

4. Provide water bottles to people who will listen to the 5-minute video and take the post-test survey.

5. Bring in a famous cyclist to provide name recognition and share safety tips.

The current Project Paper Outline should be present a Minimum of the intended public health problem, intended impact, SMART objectives, and several intended action steps to address this problem- in bullet form. Further, the outline should be limited to no more (3 pages), exclusive of references and include synthesized citation from your annonated bibliography show your evidence for the problem, background, and best practices for your approach.
