Compare and contrast the presentation of Socrates found in Aristophanes Clouds and Platos Apology. In what ways are these depictions of Socrates similar to one another, and in what ways are they different? What exactly is philosophy concerned with in each case? Is there overlap between these two presentations of Socrates philosophizing, or do they wholly differ? How, in each case, do Aristophanes and Plato situate Socrates in relation to Athenian political life? Do you find one account of Socrates to be more compelling than the other?
