The first preparation for the final paper should be around 500 words in length and should address the following:

What culture, nationality, or microculture are you going to focus on?

(DO NOT USE COLOMBIA FROM LATIN AMERICA NOR FRANCE FROM EUROPE SPECIFICALLY, because those are my personal cultures and I need you to choose whichever other one that is different from mines so I can later compare them in a later on assignment, also research on my cultures if you need to Cali, Colombia and Lyon, France, so you can be able to answer which ever other prompts the assingment asks for in all of this instructions. Briefly describe the culture (language, size, history, ethnicity/race, religion, major customs, and other things that make the culture stand out).

How would you classify the culture in terms of dimensions we have described in class (Collectivism, Communication Context, Power Distance, Uncertainty Avoidance, Masculinity, etc.)?

What major value characteristics are prominent in the culture in terms of the value schemes offered in the text and class?

How different/similar is this culture to your own?

(with this one you can research mines to answer it, cali colombia and lyon france) a little context: my father and I are from cali colombia and my sister from bogota colombia and my mother is from lyon france. the family grew up between the two countries, cities and cultures. we also lived because of my farthers job on the move constantly and got to experience living in the following countries: Panama, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Mexico, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Florida USA, Colombia Cali Bogota, France Lyon, and now presently Florida USA again.

Cite 5 sources you could use for this paper. You must have at least one text citation (I have uploaded my class textbook chapters here where you can get whichever text citation you think is best, just one of course) and one scholarly journal citation (which you are free to find that of course has to be relevant and considered a scholarly journal citation). that makes for two sources, the other three you are free to find and choose to complete the full five but of course they have to be relevant to the whole paper.

The rubric for evaluating the preparation will be:

The preparation makes it clear what culture is being analyzed 10 points

The preparation gives some basic information about the culture and people 10 points

The preparation has at least two different dimensions that apply to the culture 10 points

The preparation mentions at least two values from a value scheme in the text that apply to the culture 10 points

The preparation correctly cites 5 different likely sources (includes at least one text source and one scholarly journal source) that could be used to write the final paper 10 points
