Clozapine —- Present the FDA approval process, history of medication’s development, uses, classification, pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics, risks, side effects, contraindications, significant interactions, and clinical monitoring practices.

Use the Rubric below:

1. Present the history, development, and clinical uses of the identified medication. Give a brief history of the development of the class to which the medication belongs.

2. Discussion of FDA approvals and the published FDA approval process for the medication. Include discussion of the general process by which medications are approved by the FDA.

3. Pharmacodynamics, Pharmacokinetics, and CYP-450 system considerations

4. Risks, benefits, and side effects. Include any specific monitoring needs, contraindications, significant interactions.

5. Discussion of at least one evidenced based article that addressed an aspect of the medication that was either not covered in your presentation OR that presents an interesting literature/ application of the medication.
