When debating a bill, committees decisions are impacted by testimony that is submitted by individuals and on behalf of organizations/communities. This assignment consists of three parts. The first is to prepare 3-4 pages of written testimony concerning your area of policy study. You will then have the opportunity to record yourself delivering a four-minute summary of your testimony and participate in questioning to your peers regarding their testimony. Your Task Part 1: Written Testimony – Due: February 22, 2026 First, you will write a 3-4 page testimony concerning a current bill being considered at either the local, state, or federal level. The goal is take a stance as an advocate and support your position (for or against). Additionally, you may choose to focus on a problem at an organization, in the context that you are speaking to the Board of Directors/Trustees regarding an organizational policy. There is no need for a cover page, though references should be included at the end if used. Please use a Times New Roman 12-point font size with double-spacing, and one-inch margins. Remember to identify yourself and your connection to the issue. State the bill/policy being addressed and your position, in support or opposition, clearly. Clearly state your desired action or decision.
