- Using your personal lens, where do you stand on the use of medications for treating mental health and substance use disorders?
- Using your professional lens, share three pros of using medications as part of treatment and three cons associated with using medications.
- Understanding the scope of practice for all counselors will be key to working with clients and students. In in a setting where a youth or K-12 student comes into the office and informs you that they are currently on Ritalin for ADHD, and they or their parents have some concerns, how would you respond to the youth, student, or the parents, and how would you empower them to get their needs addressed? For this question, please consider from the perspective of a 1) clinical mental health counselor, 2) school counselor, AND 3) dually licensed counselor (school counselor + mental health counselor).
