Personal Practice Theory

Objective: Students are required to write a paper that describes/explains their personal practice theory of counseling. The paper must be written in APA format and be a minimum of ten (10) full pages, not exceeding 15 full pages (10-15 pages). This DOES NOT include the title or reference page.

Read below for specifications of assignment.

1. Assignment must have a cover page (centered). The cover page must include the following: assignment title, name, department, university, course number and name, instructors name and title, and due date. Use the template provided! 2. Assignment should be written in APA format, Times New Roman, 12-font, double-spaced, style (no spacing). Assignment must be a minimal of 7 full pages (not including cover page or reference page, if applicable).

3. Within the paper address the following:

a. How do you believe individuals are born into the world?

b. How do they become maladapted?

c. What shapes their personality?

d. Can and if so, how can personality be altered?

e. What is your role as a therapist?

f. How do you identify as a therapist?

g. What basis do you utilize within the counseling sessions?

h. How do you conceptualize clients?

i. What are the multicultural considerations?

j. In short, what research and evidence-based practice do you utilize when counseling?

4. The paper must be written in APA format and should be a minimum of ten [10] full pages not to exceed fifteen [15] full pages (not including title or reference page) with a minimum of 5 peer reviewed sources. 5. Use JSU Library or Google Scholar to find electronic resources. The articles found here are peer-reviewed.
