Assessment Preparation The purpose of the pediatric initial intake is to assess emotional, behavioral, and cognitive functioning; screen for any abnormalities; and identify strengths, challenges, and level of resilience. Review Ch. 3 and 4 of Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health, which you read last week. Select a child or adolescent from your clinical practice for whom you or your preceptor conducted an initial intake that included a detailed assessment. Assessment Deliverable Complete the Subjective, Objective, and Assessment sections of the Pediatric Initial Neuropsychiatric Intake Form. Be sure to include an assessment for adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and identify the patients stage in Eriksons psychosocial development. Do not include any identifying information about your patient. Include a title page and a reference page. Format all citations and references according to current APA guidelines.
